Our culture
Staff at Enara know that we have a welcoming and open culture. All our staff are recognised as essential members of the organisation, and are treated as such. We adopt a consultative approach with our staff, to develop a sense of ownership and self-esteem. Our staff are proud of our high reputation with Social Services Departments and with the Commission for Social Care Inspectorate.
Enara is a good and fair employer. We demand high standards, but believe that excellence of service can only be maintained with well-trained professional staff – we ensure you will receive the best level of training possible, and we will provide employment that is challenging and rewarding, with the possibility of career development.
What is domiciliary care?
Enara provides personal care services in people’s own homes – this allows them to stay at home rather than going unnecessarily into a nursing or residential home. As a carer, you would be expected to undertake a range of personal care and household tasks, to help our Service Users with rehabilitation and therapy if required, or simply to provide them with company or escort them on trips away from home.
For a fuller list of the care tasks we undertake, look at the “How Can we Help?" page on this Website, or at our Service Users Guide. For a more personal account of a carer’s experience with us, and the job satisfaction it can bring, look at “A Carer’s Story”.
Induction and Training
All new care staff at Enara will receive comprehensive Induction and Foundation training, which will enable you to carry out your duties with skill and confidence. Your induction will include training not only in the basic skills of personal care, but also on our Code of Personal Conduct, on our Terms and Conditions of employment, on Health and Safety, and on the whole range of our Policies and Working Practices.
Our induction training lasts 3 days, but you will receive regular refresher training for as long as you stay with the company; and you may undertake further specialist training (for example on Dementia, or Children with Special needs) if you wish. All carers are encouraged to undertake NVQ Level 2 in Care, which helps the company in meeting our Standards requirements, and also your own career development.
Supervisor and management opportunities
Enara also offers opportunities for carers to advance their careers with care supervisor or managerial posts, both in our Area Offices and at our Head Office in Greenford.
